This is a topic I found on most model forums, and there's a lot of builders out there building this car. Here we can share info we found on the car. What year parts on the car? Motor? Paint? Etc. The real camaro is a kitbash of a 67 Z28 with various years of camaro parts on it. Let's have a thread to share everything we found about this car. I'm even thinking of making up a facebook page and can post photos of various angles of the car, movie stills, and various stuff on there. This will make it easier to go back and forth on pictures, links, without having to fight with photobucket or any photo sites.
Here’s what I kinda figured out and know so far. Maybe I'm right or wrong?
Camaro is a 67 Z28 68 doors, and door panels, 67 dash and gauges, 67 shifter, 73 camaro front seats interior, Rear seat looks like 67 stock interior All black leather interior on the inside. 5 slot mag rims, Custom hood, 68 grille and headlights, 67 has the truck/taillights, 3 hole camaro steering wheel, 302 motor (modded) Custom roll cage, Black drivers mirror, not a mirror on passenger side Red lettering Goodyear tires on front, Center mirror is chrome. No clue on year on side pipes, I believe the gas tank door is hidden behind the license plate but don’t know for certain.
Color Car is all red except for hood, cowl, and back section of trunk, and tail lights. Still haven't figured out the color red or black as of yet. I have heard from others chevy red and satin black, but haven't had the time to compare different paints yet.

It could have the 68's front half, and they used the shell/guts from a 67.

Not yet. I'm just trying to get some stuff done up for Halloween first. I have 5 kits to build this winter, and AB&R is going to be the fun one to build. I'm just gathering up my supplies, and few more parts.
Hey Chief, if you seen this car Did you see the motor by chance? Did it have a orange block?

Yes I did xxxx years ago just after the it ended up in the town I lived in. but I cant remember much from back then. that was when I got my start in racing and was about all I cared about. we were going to 5 to 7 tracks a week so it involved very long hours was so busy building and racing cars boats atv's motorcycles etc. and for so many years after that so that made many things just a blur it was fun no regrets but this most people remember I was doing so much of it I can only remember the special things like motor exploded on hauler and having to pull racecar engine and put in hauler to get home with out hurting that one not built to tow etc. plus how much race fuel it would take to get home at 3.50 a gallon when gas was .45 a gallon or building race motor in hotel you the fun stuff or putting drag boat motor in street car and go down town to brake it in . the real days of racing. I had put something like 150,000 miles on a car on a year just going to tracks on west coast. so as to you answer cant remember much other than the car downtown cruzing it was like American graffiti 7 nights a week. I think it was orange but not positive

I'll work on getting more photos of the car from the movie this weekend. Will try to get as many as I can of the outside, inside, and all around as I can. Just trying to figure, what all is needed? Stills of the roll cage in a variety of directions? Side pipes, and possible kits with similar versions? Shifter? Gages? Interior? Radio? Console? etc. Throw me some idea's on where to go.
I have photo's of the real car, but like to have ones of the car in the movie, since over time, paint changes and chips.

Right now, I just won the front seats on Ebay, and waiting on them. They are the white seats from the 73 kit I posted awhile back. Someone had them as a camaro seat set for 8 bucks total. Now, I'm just waiting on them to get here. I just got in the baldwin parts friday, and still have to check them out and see how they look, size, and compare them to photo's. Don't worry on my parts, I'll take photo's, post them, etc. I'm in the same boat as everyone else on this car trying to get the right parts to make it all work in the end. I also noticed on my 68 Z28 AMT kit does not have a mirror with it for the drivers side. If I can't find one, I might have to craft one from JB waterweld.

You want the after market . I don't remember that on a stock camaro. About 73 - 74 pinto came with them. All the mirror mold that I have are late 50's to mid 60's stock one everybody wants but I hate to cast so don't talk much about having the molds .

Ok, looking for threads on this site and another for resin mirrors. It's funny, you can find various tires, rims, and fender flare kits, but not one real company makes a mirror pack for models.
I'll work on getting up more photo's of the Aloha Camaro mirror, interior, licence plate, tail lights, flares, this week. Took a few days off to try to finish a game or get a few endings.

So far these are the parts I have to date for the build. I been storing them up for the build. All I believe I'm missing is some extra gauges to mount to the dash, and 2 drivers mirrors. I would like to build both versions of the camaro from the movie. The red/black main car and the all black version.I have all these parts Camaro PartsModel kit is a 68 and photo's show all that came with it. 67 and 69 junkyard camaros 1974 MPC camaro seats 69 camaro hood 5 slot rims 67 Dash Decals 3 holed steering wheel Extra side pipes, motor parts. Fender flares (incase I need them) Battery cables I have old tree's from gundam builds to use for a roll cage. Have a set of 4 batteries, in the mail using on other kits in the future. If anyone wants photo's of the 3 different body's I can get those pictured also. There's few details but I think they are same size. I have a distributor set from Detail Master in the mail for the Drag-u-la build. If I like it I might get one for Aloha.
