Anyone ever built one of these? I heard the kit looks easy, but is a pain in the butt. I have plans on building this and the Koach but doing some modding on the coffin. Mainly I want to cut the model up so the lid will open, and remove the front to show off the motor. I also want to make up a framing like the real car, so it looks more like the real car. Sad thing is it's a pretty small kit, and I really am not a fan of the hard plastic tires. BTW My kit is the one cast in gold plastic, so I have gold tires.

Unless you dip it in purple power.

I think I'm going to sand them up real good, then paint them. If I don't like them I'll look for a real tire set, this will also go for the Koach.
Does it sound dumb to cut the car body into pieces. Make it so the door will open and close. The hood can be removed, showing the motor. Maybe place fabric inside for a better look, same on the seat.
Even adding to the body a dragster frame system. I know easy kit, but I want to make mine stand out a little.

Is it gold plastic or gold plated. Plastic you can paint it .plating you have to dip it that is why i said purple power. To remove plating. Are you taking photos so you can post it . Got keep the forum going.

Gold plastic molding. It's going to take me a few hours on cutting the body. The cuts have to be along the lids seam lines, the the coffin door area.

That is always fun backside. Of number 10 blade works best go light once you have a good groove go for it.

Finally cut the body, without cutting off my fingers. Took me a few hours cause my hands keep cramping up. This is the kit I have, and the body is finally cut. I want to hinge the back so it will open, have the hood so it can be removed by hand. I have old revell drag kit body, in the mail. I want to build the model close to the real car's frame. Add gold flake to the body, burn the pipes a little to create a curve look to them. Make a radiator for it with the coffin on the top. Add a oil filter, distributor cap, wires, radiator hoses, battery, battery cables, pedals, line for the gas tank, and cables to the shoot and hand brake. Plus, if I can pull it off adding fabric to the inside, seat, and some gold trim to give it a better look. This is a long shot, but something I am willing to try. Drag-u-la model
