I'm working hard on the aloha bobby and rose camaro. This is looking to be a very nice kit 70s style with flared fenders rear spoiler side pipes. If you ever saw the movie it has one of the best looking 67 / 68 camaro's of it day . ( The reason for the 67 / 68 the real car was a 67 with 68 doors and fenders .) It's a bright red with satin black . This should be a nice fun build. And I'm working hard trying to get it done hope to have done mid February.

This is a work in progress that will be one very cool early body camaro . That if your a product of sixtys or like that era. Car and color style you will be hooked the style of car with cowl hood rear deck spoiler not a wing fender flairs slight lowering basic early style Trans Am racing only on the street. ( remremember when the women were safe and the cars were dangerous. Now the cars are safe and the women are dangerous. )

Are you going to build the rollcage in the car like the movie? Are you building the car like the movie or the replica one someone built a few years back. If you need any photo's from the movie drop me a line I'm Blackkat on the modeling forum. I'll try to help you where I can. www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/122922-aloha-bobby-rose-camaro-model-build-help/

You're right on the car being a 67 with 68 parts. The dash, body, and tail lights are a dead giveaway with the car being a 67. The interior is from 73/70ish Camaro. The motor is a 302. The rims are 5 hole mags. The car has a roll cage all around the inside of the car. I have no idea on the color red that was used on the car. All I know on the paint is that it was a lacquer paint and not a enamel. The hood, cowl, back fin and tail end are a flat black. The car has 67 tail lights, since those are the originals. I have no clue on what kid or exhaust was used on the car. I hope this helps you out on your build/kit.

The car is still the same way it was after the movie was done. The guy that owns it also owns the American Graffiti Deuce Coupe. He keep both cars original and the way he received them. There are a few others that were done similar to aloha, but the original is still the original. I just wish it and the coupe would be going to shows again. I would really love to see those 2 cars in person.

With help from viewers on this forum i have started to cast some wheels for the bobby & rose camaro . This is first stage cleaned wheels up made mold of two wheels now i will clean them up more and make a new mold that can cast 4 or 8 wheels at a time. They sent me the two they had one front and one rear. Not wanting to hurt the original i cleaned them and molded them so i can make more to make a larger mold so i can do more at a time . And by the way the wheels are in great shape shallow front and deeps rear . Thanks for the loan of the wheels. A couple more days they will be headed back to you . Not knowing if you wanted a mention i left your name out feel free to leave a message or let me know if it is ok to post who you are..... Hosted on Fotki

Glad the rims turned out so nicely. I wonder how old they are? What build they came from when I bought them in a junkyard lot.
On the Aloha build I'm working on a guide/notepad as far as what the parts real car has. This helps me find parts for this model car. I'm screenshotting as many areas of this car as possible. To make sure I find what is black and what is red on the body. Getting photo's of all the roll cage layout, dash, doors, interior, gauges, shifter, console, interior, steering wheel, etc. I'm pretty much studying this car like any builds I work on. Only thing I can't find is a photo of the real cars modded 302 engine, gas tank/door, and underside. I still haven't been able to find out what 2 gauges were built onto the dash in the center or the right color of red and black. Those areas I will have to guess on, but other than that almost have it figured out.
If anyone needs any pics drop me a line, and I'll see what I have.

I can setup a section fot you to post everything here if you would like . You need a third party hosting site for the photos . Other than that you can post any and everything about the car / build that you want. If you dont have hosting you can send an email to me and I will post For you.
I had a rush on some body's so I fell behind on the wheels. I did make a mold for one of each and got 3 pair made next will be a mold that will make a complete set at one time. Most likely do two of those and then get yours and a few sets back. I can't believe how nice they turned out great shape for masters. It is really to bad the photos look so bad because when I cast them with the aluminum powder they look just like a real wheel. Won't be much longer.. Thanks again.
